Tinea Infections (Ringworm)

Tinea infections, commonly known as ringworm, are fungal infections affecting the skin, hair, or nails. They are caused by dermatophytes and are named based on the affected body part, such as tinea corporis (body), tinea pedis (athlete’s foot), and tinea capitis (scalp). Symptoms include red, itchy, circular rashes with a clear center. Treatment involves antifungal medications, either topical or oral.
