Scabies

Scabies is a contagious skin infestation caused by the mite Sarcoptes scabiei. The mites burrow into the skin, causing intense itching and a pimple-like rash. Scabies spreads through direct skin-to-skin contact. Treatment involves topical medications, such as permethrin cream or oral ivermectin, and decontaminating clothing and bedding.
