Ostomy

An ostomy is a surgical procedure that creates an opening (stoma) in the body to allow for the discharge of bodily waste. Types of ostomies include colostomy, ileostomy, and urostomy, depending on the part of the body involved. Ostomies are performed when part of the digestive or urinary system is diseased or damaged.
