Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP)

The Loop Electrosurgical Excision Procedure (LEEP) is a treatment used to remove abnormal cervical tissue. It involves using a thin wire loop heated by an electric current to excise the affected tissue. LEEP is commonly used to treat precancerous changes in the cervix detected during a Pap smear.
