Immunosuppression

Immunosuppression refers to the reduction of the immune system’s activity. It can be a result of medical treatment, such as drugs used to prevent organ transplant rejection or to treat autoimmune diseases. It can also occur due to certain diseases. While necessary in some contexts, immunosuppression increases the risk of infections and other complications.
