Immunodeficiency is a condition in which the immune system’s ability to fight infectious diseases and cancer is compromised or entirely absent. It can be congenital (primary immunodeficiency) or acquired (secondary immunodeficiency) due to factors like infections (e.g., HIV), medications, or other diseases. Treatment depends on the underlying cause and may include medications, immunoglobulin replacement therapy, or bone marrow transplants.
