Herpes Simplex

Herpes simplex is a viral infection caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV), which has two types: HSV-1 (commonly causes oral herpes) and HSV-2 (commonly causes genital herpes). It is characterized by painful blisters and sores on the skin or mucous membranes. The infection is lifelong, with periodic outbreaks triggered by various factors.
