Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB)

A Data and Safety Monitoring Board (DSMB) is an independent group of experts that monitors patient safety and treatment efficacy data while a clinical trial is ongoing. The DSMB reviews interim data to ensure the safety of participants and the integrity of the data, and they may recommend modifications or termination of the study if necessary.
