In an era marked by unprecedented global health challenges, the role of organizations dedicated to clinical research and development cannot be overstated. Contract research organizations like TFS HealthScience play a vital role in advancing medical discoveries and therapeutic innovations. But beyond this primary focus and rooted in our commitment to furthering global health, TFS has taken a step further by hosting and actively engaging in philanthropic activities to contribute to the health and well-being of patients worldwide.

In 2023, we donated more than €15,000 across 20+ organizations in support of several awareness campaigns and initiatives to catalyze action. Here are a few highlights:

World Cancer Day

We dream of a world where cancer is prevented, and access to life-saving cancer treatment and care is equitable for all. World Cancer Day is an international awareness campaign to raise global awareness, improve education, and encourage people to take action. This year’s theme, “Close the Care Gap,” celebrated the progress that has enabled more people to seek and receive the care they need and deserve. Between 3 February-31 March, TFS hosted a charity campaign, “TFS Together for A Future Without Cancer,” raising more than €1,800 for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, a global leader in the fight against cancer, while promoting health and well-being among its employees. TFS donated $10 per employee who participated in an in-one-go 5 km walk, jog, or run and posted about it on their social media.

Magic Line SJD

In March, our teams in Barcelona and Madrid took part in the 10^th Magic Line SJD solidarity walk, an initiative led by the Barcelona Children’s Hospital Sant Joan de Déu for a more just and supportive world. Hospital Sant Joan de Déu is a reference hospital in Spain for pediatric diseases, and TFS is working with them in several clinical trials. The 2023 walk was particularly special, celebrating 10 years of solidarity, citizen involvement, self-improvement, and the will to achieve a fairer world! Our colleagues collected donations, and TFS topped it off, donating more than €2,000, which went directly to research pediatric diseases and other social activities.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

TFS took on the challenge of raising awareness and donations supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month in October. This month-long campaign has grown into a global movement dedicated to educating people about breast cancer and encouraging proactive measures for early detection. At TFS, we support the goal of empowering individuals to take control of their breast health, advocating for breast cancer research, and providing vital support for patients and survivors. Many of TFS’s employees have been involved in breast cancer clinical trials and the evolution of therapies in this field, not only contributing to longer survival, but also improving the quality of life for patients. We were ecstatic to see so many of our colleagues get dressed in pink and gather to participate in activities to bring awareness to this important cause. Fueling Philanthropy with TFS

We immensely appreciate the persistent research efforts across all therapeutic areas and indications. As such, we pledged to donate to a charity associated with the theme of every event we attend—enabling us to directly aid research communities working towards a deeper understanding and developing solutions in various life science fields. Furthermore, these charitable contributions were made on behalf of the conference attendees who visited our booth. As we established connections and interactions, our booth transitioned into a vehicle for generosity, transforming each dialogue into a charitable act. By choosing to participate in this initiative, attendees not only left the event with enhanced knowledge and connections, but also with the rewarding knowledge of having contributed to a worthy cause.
