An Institutional Review Board (IRB) or Independent Ethics Committee (IEC) is a group of experts responsible for reviewing and overseeing clinical research to ensure the protection of participants’ rights, safety, and well-being. The IRB/IEC reviews study protocols, informed consent forms, and other study-related documents to ensure ethical conduct and compliance with regulatory requirements.
