Principal Investigator or Primary Investigator (PI)

The Principal Investigator (PI) is the lead researcher responsible for the overall conduct of a clinical trial. The PI oversees the study’s design, implementation, and data analysis, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and ethical standards. CROs work closely with PIs to support trial management, including patient recruitment, data collection, monitoring, and reporting.
