Vitreous

The vitreous humor, or vitreous, is the clear, gel-like substance that fills the space between the lens and the retina in the eye. It helps maintain the eye’s shape and allows light to pass through to the retina. With age or certain conditions, the vitreous can shrink or liquefy, leading to issues such as floaters, retinal detachment, or vitreous hemorrhage.
