Type 1 Diabetes

Type 1 diabetes is an autoimmune disease where the immune system attacks and destroys insulin-producing beta cells in the pancreas. This leads to an inability to produce insulin, resulting in high blood sugar levels. It is typically diagnosed in children and young adults. Management requires lifelong insulin therapy, blood sugar monitoring, and dietary management.
